What To Do When a Death Occurs
The Red Deer Victim Services Unit provides bereavement counseling and assistance with police procedures related to fatalities. Advocacy may be dispatched on scene when a sudden death occurs to assist with family notifications and/or to offer information and emotional support to the next-of-kin. Please contact the Deer Victim Services Unit for assistance if advocates are unable to attend the scene.
Note:
Red Deer City Victim Services Unit Volunteer Advocates are not counselors but are there to assist in partnership with other agencies in conducting a defusing and/or debriefing(s).
Note:
Red Deer City Victim Services Unit is here to assist you by proving you support, information and community referrals.
